About TWI
WHAT IS TWI?
Training Within Industry (TWI) is a suite of training modules developed in the US during WW2 to train replacements of an industrial workforce sent off to fight a war.
It provided rapid and consistent training and is recognised as part of what helped allied forces secure victory as they boosted industrial production and out-produced the enemy. TWI was a huge success.
Implementing TWI
It’s typical to implement JR at the beginning of your TWI journey. This builds positive employee relations and increases cooperation, motivation and effectively resolves conflict. The foundation is then solid to build the remaining modules within the correct environment ensuring success and sustainability of the TWI improvement program.
All 3 TWI programs are 10 hours in duration and consist of hands on practical training using real life problems, jobs and processes. The delivery of TWI courses is flexible and can be adapted to the needs of the organisation, subject to a few guidelines.
